Account deletion
Ordinary Hookt mobile verification does not require a Hookt account. There is no consumer account or profile to delete.
Accountless verification
Anyone can use the app to verify a protected communication. This is separate from accounts used by subscribing businesses and their administrators.
Removing local history
Selected scan results are kept only in the app’s local history on your device as a verification and evidence reference. Hookt does not automatically expire this history and has no history-clearing function.
Removing the app or its app data removes that local history, subject to your operating system’s device and backup behavior. Offloading an app may keep its data, and restoring a backup may bring history back. Check your device settings if you also want to remove backup copies.
Separate server records
Deleting local history does not delete the separate records that Hookt maintains for the protected communication, its verification or relevant security purposes. Those records follow the Privacy Policy retention rules, including the seven-year core verification and evidence period.
Privacy requests
Accountless use does not remove your applicable data-protection rights. See the Privacy Policy for the rights that apply and how to make a request. Requests about a business’s communication data may need to be handled with that business.
